Vehicle Operations Check In Specialist I (Manheim)

Responsibilities Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 computer using a handheld device for each vehicle received at the auction, including VIN, stock number, dealer ID, make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc. Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received. Associate tracker device to work order number and install on OBD port or strap a second‑generation tracker around the steering wheel. Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry. Flag “no key” cars. Direct transporters to the proper car drop zone. Report transportation damage as needed. Take a digital image of the vehicle upon receipt. Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the person driving the vehicle through the registration/check‑in area. Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling related behaviors. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence. Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, e.g., assist on sale days driving vehicles through auction sales lanes. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 1–3 years of auction and/or vehicle registration experience preferred. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required. Ability to drive vehicles with both standard and automatic transmission. Basic computer skills required. Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear; frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb. Ability to lift 1–15 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Schedule, Compensation, and Drug Testing Work environment involves frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions and a moderate noise level. A pre‑employment drug test is required. Drug testing does not include marijuana for this position. Hourly base pay ranges from $16.63 to $24.90 per hour, depending on location and qualifications. Additional compensation may include commission (annual or monthly) and/or incentive programs. Benefits Minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off each month and seven paid holidays per calendar year.
