What You'll Do

As a Customer Support Representative, you will be at the center of the patient experience by:

• Serving as the primary point of contact for inbound and outbound patient communications related to pharmacy services.
• Scheduling medication refills and coordinating prescription deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment.
• Assisting patients with billing, payment, insurance verification, and other prescription-related questions.
• Communicating prescription and shipment status updates while providing a positive and supportive service experience.
• Routing clinical questions and escalations to pharmacists, nurses, and appropriate team members.
• Accurately documenting patient interactions, requests, and outcomes within pharmacy management systems.
• Maintaining detailed records of prescription activity, insurance information, and customer communications.
• Identifying and promptly escalating adverse events, product complaints, and patient safety concerns.
• Collaborating with pharmacy operations, clinical teams, and customer service professionals to streamline workflows and improve patient outcomes.
• Delivering compassionate, professional support while maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Pharmacy Technician registration.
• Previous customer service experience, preferably within healthcare, pharmacy, or contact center environments.
• Experience handling inbound and outbound calls while maintaining professionalism and efficiency.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with pharmacy or customer management systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and caregivers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to verify insurance information and discuss prescription-related financial matters.
• Ability to consistently work scheduled training and permanent shift hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
• Prior experience in retail, specialty, mail-order, or healthcare pharmacy environments.
• Call center experience within healthcare or pharmacy operations.
• Knowledge of prior authorizations and insurance processes.
• Medical terminology knowledge or medical office experience.
• Experience with medical claims processing.
• Strong data entry skills with a focus on speed and accuracy.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a structured, performance-driven environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in Cary, North Carolina and follows a hybrid schedule , with a combination of onsite and remote work following successful completion of training.

The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and patient-focused, requiring frequent interaction through phone systems, pharmacy management platforms, and Microsoft Office applications. Success in this role requires professionalism, adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service with every patient interaction.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
