Geotechnical Driller Assistant

Experienced Driller Assistant - Houston, Texas Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to world‑class brands, is actively seeking an Experienced Driller Assistant to join our Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek‑PSI) team in Houston, Texas. This is a great opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Responsibilities Assist the Driller in soil drilling, rock coring, sampling, classifications, in‑situ testing, and monitoring well installation. Assist the Driller to load and unload augers and assemble and disassemble augers. Prepare tooling and supplies for the day’s tasks. Assist with the location of boring locations. Retrieve and log samples. Clean and maintain equipment and perform site clean‑up. This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications 6 months of drilling or other construction experience. Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record. Ability to travel up to 60%. Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed. Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance. Ability to receive detailed instructions through oral communication and make discriminations in sound. Ability to kneel and squat occasionally. Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time. Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures. Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights. Ability to work overnight hours and off shift. Preferred Requirements & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 1 year of Driller Helper/Assistant experience. CDL.
