Appellate/Trial Attorney - Premises Liability and Tort Litigation

About the Position
McLain & Merritt, P.C. is seeking an appellate/trial attorney with more than 2 years of experience to join our premises liability and tort defense practice.
Responsibilities
- Second-chair high-exposure trials to fulfill the role of embedded appellate counsel.
- Assist with motion practice across the department, including pre-trial motions, motions for summary judgment, requests for jury instructions, motions in limine, Daubert motions, motions to compel, motions for protective order, etc.
- Assist with complex discovery issues.
- Handle appeals before the Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, and federal appellate courts.
- Participate in oral arguments and hearings.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia
- 2-5+ years of relevant litigation/trial/appellate experience, preferably with experience in premises liability and tort defense
- Strong work ethic
- Determination to meet and exceed expectations
- Excellent writing, analytical, research, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and work on multiple cases simultaneously
- Attention to detail, excellent time management, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients
