Capacity Planning Supervisor

Position Summary The Capacity Planning Supervisor leads the ground capacity team to ensure every shipment is assigned a qualified, vetted carrier on time and within budget. The role oversees carrier dispatch, appointment governance via Open Dock, tracking compliance via MacroPoint, and 24-hour post-delivery cost audits in Aljex, serving as the primary escalation point for coverage and operational issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Board & Coverage Management: Oversee shift coverage, enforce a 30–60 minute carrier confirmation target, rebalance workloads, and decide on rate/sourcing exceptions.

• Carrier & Cost Control: Manage carrier performance, approve rate exceptions to protect margins, build lane capacity ahead of demand, and audit final carrier charges within 24 hours of delivery.

• Appointment & Dispatch Governance: Enforce strict Aljex/Open Dock appointment synchronization, mandate pre-pickup MacroPoint tracking, and ensure accurate milestone updates.

• Escalations & Problem Resolution: Act as first-line escalation for coverage failures, system defects, and rate disputes; immediately escalate security issues to GSOC.

• Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, train, and coach planners on negotiation and systems; manage shift staffing and cross-training.

• Analytics & Improvement: Monitor capacity KPIs (Power BI), track lane margins, forecast demand, and convert service trends into updated SOPs and carrier scorecards.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

• Tools: Proficiency in Aljex, Open Dock, MacroPoint/Tive, and Power BI dashboards.

• Expertise: Experience managing dedicated/high-security carrier pools, carrier scorecards, accessorial/margin control, and cross-border/specialized freight.

• Physical & Travel: Standard office computer use with occasional travel for carrier or site visits.
