Radiation Therapist

Job Summary:


We seek a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse with specialties in Medical/Surgical, ICU, ER, Psychiatric, Labor & Delivery, PACU, Operating Room. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing skilled nursing care, case management, and hospice care to individuals facing advancing age, frailty, and serious illness. Daily tasks include patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Critical to this role is strong communication and strong collaboration with patients, providers, and other members of our team. At least 2 years of experience and exceptional skill is required.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Provide skilled nursing care in various clinical settings including Medical/Surgical, ICU, ER, Psychiatric, Labor & Delivery, PACU, and Operating Room.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and case management.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and care plans.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Participate in hospice care for patients with advancing age, frailty, and serious illness.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Minimum of two years' experience in hospital, home health, or hospice care.
• Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Strong interdisciplinary team collaboration abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Driver's license, car insurance, and access to an automobile for field work.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in pediatric care or trauma settings.
• Specialty certifications in critical care, emergency nursing, or hospice care.
• Advanced training in patient safety and quality improvement.

Special Considerations:

• No on-call requirements.
• No weekend or block schedule obligations.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio approximately 20 patients per Registered Nurse.
• Work environment includes children's hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.

Scheduling:

• Standard shifts without block scheduling.
• Shift assignments based on unit needs without mandatory weekend or on-call duties.
