This merchant will be responsible for delighting Quince's growing customer base by building and scaling the Eyewear assortment, with a particular focus on prescription (Rx) lenses — spanning frames, single-vision and progressive lenses, blue-light, readers, and sunglasses.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESScale the Eyewear business by adding to, refining, and improving the assortment across frames and prescription lens offeringsOwn the prescription lens strategy — lens types (single vision, progressive, blue-light, readers), coatings, materials, and index options — and identify the right expansion opportunities to set the business up for long-term growthWork closely with product development, sourcing, and technical design to develop and improve frames and lens quality, and to ensure a seamless Rx fulfillment experience for the customerPartner with vendors and optical labs to deliver on quality, price, and prescription accuracyPartner with planning, site merchandising, and marketing to grow the businessObsess about every aspect of our products (fit, quality, lens performance, price) to deliver for the customerHelp drive the business forward to meet sales targets, customer ratings/return rates, and improved marginsREQUIREMENTSRole is based in San Francisco, California, with a 3 days per week in-office requirement5–10 years of retail merchandising experience, ideally within Eyewear, optical, or prescription lens categories; luxury expertise preferredWorking knowledge of prescription lens technology, optical fulfillment, and frame construction strongly preferredE-commerce and/or DTC experience preferredProven track record of progressing within an organization and demonstrating continuous growth in roles and responsibilitiesProduct obsessed, with experience leveraging data tools and external sourcesCritical eye to anticipate customer needs (both the "science" and "art" of retail merchandising)Highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical, with focus on execution, problem-solving, improving processes, and brand enhancementContinuous learner and highly curious; open to new perspectives; proactive when changing course and facing added challengesExcellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsMotivated by a fast-paced, collaborative environment where flexibility to stretch into or out of functional comfort zones is crucial for team successBachelor's Degree, preferredAll posted ranges are reflective of base salary and may vary depending upon experience level and location.
