HVAC Estimator

HVAC EstimatorWe are partnering with a local HVAC and mechanical contractor in Honolulu, HI, to identify an experienced HVAC Estimator to join their team.The HVAC Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and residential HVAC projects. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to support successful bids and project execution.Key responsibilities include:Prepare detailed HVAC cost estimates for new construction, renovations, and retrofit projectsReview drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine the scope of workPerform material takeoffs, labor calculations, and equipment pricingCoordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricingIdentify risks, assumptions, and value-engineering opportunitiesSupport bid submissions and pre-construction planningCollaborate with project management and field teamsMaintain accurate estimating documentationQualifications include:5–7 years of experience as a construction estimator, preferably focused on HVAC or mechanical projectsStrong understanding of HVAC systems and installation methodsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsExperience with estimating software and ExcelStrong attention to detail and time-management skillsAbility to manage multiple bids and deadlinesPreferred experience includes:Commercial HVAC estimating experienceKnowledge of local building codes and permitting requirementsField experience in HVAC or mechanical constructionConstruction Management, Engineering, or related degree (preferred, not required)Compensation & benefits include:Competitive compensation based on experienceDiscretionary bonus opportunities
