Associate, Energy

Position Overview Apollo is seeking an Associate to join its Industry Research investment team in the Energy/Infrastructure/Power vertical. The candidate will work as part of the Corporate Credit team on all stages of the investment process and will focus on new and existing investments across all energy and infrastructure sub‑sectors, including oil and gas, power, renewables, and transport/logistics. The Associate will contribute to activities such as initial diligence, investment committee process, monitoring, and reporting to support portfolio managers across the Apollo Credit platform. Primary Responsibilities Partner with senior industry lead to provide analytical and project support for all investment‑related activities, including new issues, secondary trades, and portfolio monitoring. Serve as the point person on the Energy/Infrastructure/Power team to conduct exploratory research and perform analytics on potential investment opportunities. Conduct daily responsibilities such as modeling, quantitative financial analysis, financial and business due diligence, and quarterly reporting. Collaborate with the Energy/Infrastructure/Power team to develop investment committee memoranda, materials for senior team members, and ad‑hoc projects including portfolio monitoring, reporting, and investor requests. Qualifications & Experience 2‑3 years of investment banking experience (Leveraged Finance, Industry Coverage, Restructuring) or buy‑side credit investing experience. Strong interest in credit investing. Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; top‑tier Excel and PowerPoint skills are a must. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A high degree of maturity, strong work ethic, and an eager‑to‑learn attitude. Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Specific experience and interest in energy, power, and renewables is required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
