Join Our Team as a Surgicalist Physician

We are a prominent healthcare organization in Central New York, currently looking for a Surgicalist Physician to become part of our vibrant and supportive team in Syracuse. This role is dedicated to emergency and acute surgical care within a hospital environment, providing an engaging and rewarding medical practice in a collaborative setting.

Our practice allows for flexibility, enabling you to concentrate solely on inpatient surgical care or to incorporate outpatient clinic hours if you wish to maintain continuity with certain patients. Schedule

• 3 weeks per month: 5 ten-hour days/week (Monday-Friday)
• Total of 180 weekday shifts annually
• 2 weekend days per month: 24 shifts per year

Practice Environment

You will work alongside a committed and high-performing care team. Our Surgicalist is supported by a proficient group of surgical PAs who assist in the operating room and play a vital role in managing patient care and rounding on the floor. This position is hospital-based with no clinic responsibilities, although there is an option to take on clinic hours if desired.

Qualifications

• Active medical license in New York State and DEA registration
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery

Recruitment Package

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, which includes:

• Base Salary: $290,000 - $315,000 annually
• This salary range reflects the starting total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, extra shift bonuses, and other cash compensation applicable to the role.
• Providers typically receive a CME allowance along with additional benefits from their medical group employer.
• Please note that this salary range is in accordance with State law and may vary based on the factors mentioned.
• Quality Bonus: Up to $25,000
• Additional Compensation Opportunities:
  • $1,750 for each additional Surgicalist shift
  • $750 for each 14-hour weekday overnight shift (Monday-Friday)
  • $1,200 for each 24-hour weekend shift (Saturday-Sunday)
  • $1,200 for each 24-hour holiday shift
• CME Time: Includes a $4,500 annual expense allowance
• Loan Repayment: Our institution qualifies as an eligible employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
