Senior Staff Accountant

Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 + Bonus Opportunity Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Our client, a growing and well-established financial services organization, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, gain exposure to complex accounting matters, and contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in public accounting, exceptional technical accounting skills, and a desire to grow within a high-performing finance organization. Responsibilities Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. Support external audits and coordinate requests from auditors. Perform variance analysis and investigate financial discrepancies. Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures. Assist with technical accounting research and documentation. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. Support special projects, process improvements, and system implementations as needed. Contribute to the preparation of management reports and financial analyses. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Minimum of 2 years of Big 4 public accounting experience required. CPA preferred; CPA candidates actively pursuing certification will also be considered. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting. Experience working with complex accounting transactions and reconciliations. Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Experience Financial services, banking, investment management, private equity, wealth management, or related industry experience. Experience supporting audits and regulatory reporting. Exposure to ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
