CVOR Registered Nurse – Houston, TX Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Days | No Weekends Shift Options: 10-Hour Shifts (4 Days/Week) or 12-Hour Shifts (3 Days/Week) On-Call Requirement: 1 Weekend Per Month + 3–4 Weekdays Monthly Compensation: $38.03–$57.05/hour (based on experience) On-Call Pay: $5.00/hour Sign-On Bonus: Available on a case-by-case basis Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis Overview Join a nationally recognized cardiovascular surgical program as a CVOR Registered Nurse supporting complex cardiac and vascular procedures in a high‑acuity surgical environment. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care for cardiovascular and vascular surgical patients throughout the perioperative process. Maintain sterile technique and ensure adherence to infection prevention standards. Prepare patients and operating rooms for cardiovascular surgical procedures. Conduct preoperative patient assessments and verify procedural readiness. Participate in surgical time‑outs and patient safety initiatives. Assist surgeons and perioperative team members during cardiac and vascular procedures. Monitor patient status and advocate for patient safety throughout the surgical experience. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and interdisciplinary team members. Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for perioperative staff. Support quality improvement initiatives and departmental performance goals.
