Position Overview

• Role: CVOR Registered Nurse (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
• Schedule: Full-time, Days, No Weekends
• Location: Webster
• Hours:
• • 4 × 10-hour shifts per week, or
  • 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
• Operating Room Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation

• Base Pay: $38.03–$57.05/hour (depending on experience)
• On-Call Pay: $5/hour
• Sign-On Bonus: Possible, case-by-case
• Relocation Assistance: Possible, case-by-case

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor sterile surgical environments.
• Prepare patients for cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments.
• Participate in surgical "time-outs" and safety protocols.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff.
• Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active Texas RN license or Compact RN license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• At least 1 year of CVOR experience as an RN in an acute-care setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree.
• CNOR certification.

Alternative Candidate Profile

The hospital will also consider:

• An experienced OR nurse with 3+ years of operating room experience, even without CVOR experience.
• Qualified OR nurses may be cross-trained into CVOR.

Call Requirements

• Approximately 1 weekend per month .
• 3–4 weekday call shifts per month.
• Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital due to call response requirements.

Department Highlights

• 3 operating rooms:
• • 2 dedicated cardiovascular rooms
  • 1 hybrid vascular room
• Approximately 400+ open-heart procedures annually
• Typical volume: 2–4 heart cases per day
• Nurse-to-patient ratio noted as 1:1
