About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Business Development to spearhead its commercial growth strategy in the defense, aerospace, government, and national-security markets. The successful candidate will be tasked with leading the overall sales and business development strategy, owning the full capture lifecycle, and building executive-level relationships with a focus on major business opportunities. Key responsibilities include leading and developing the sales and business development team, as well as partnering with various internal departments to ensure alignment of customer needs with the growth strategy. Applicants for the Vice President of Business Development role at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in sales, business development, or capture within the aerospace and defense sector. A strong understanding of the defense and national-security market is essential, as is a proven track record of leading significant captures and winning business with U.S. government customers and major defense primes. The role requires experience in government acquisition, FAR/DFARS, and long-cycle defense pursuits, as well as a background in leading and developing sales and business development teams. The ideal candidate will have a startup or high-growth aerospace and defense experience, be adept at building sales processes, forecasting, and pipeline management, and be willing to travel extensively.
