Grill Cook

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and assembling menu items while maintaining Jawny’s standards for food quality, safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is dependable, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in preparing great food.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items including cheesesteaks, wings, sides, sauces, and other food items
• Follow recipes, portion standards, and preparation procedures
• Maintain speed, accuracy, and consistency during busy service periods
• Properly operate kitchen equipment including grills, fryers, ovens, and prep equipment
• Complete daily food preparation tasks including cutting vegetables, portioning ingredients, and restocking stations
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation
• Assist with opening, closing, and daily kitchen cleaning procedures
• Work as part of a team to create a positive guest experience

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, restaurant, or food preparation experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Must be able to communicate effectively with team members
