Buyer – Exterior (Contract) Location: Troy, MI, USA Job ID: 47797 Job Summary Our client in Troy, MI is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Buyer – Exterior to join our growing team that adopts a “roll up the sleeves” approach to getting things done. This role requires accountability, strategic thinking, relationship building, business case analysis, and negotiation skills. Responsibilities Develop a strategic supply base, lead supplier negotiations, and manage RFIs, RFQs, and commercial agreements to meet cost targets, deliverables, and timing. Source and purchase production parts, service parts, tooling, and services while resolving cost, quality, and delivery issues. Take ownership of Automotive Exterior sourcing ensuring precision fit, supplier readiness, risk mitigation, and launch timing. Collaborate cross‑functionally to implement cost reductions, drive supplier quality, and ensure adherence to Global Terms and Conditions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree 8‑10 years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain Management or Engineering. Proven experience sourcing Automotive Interior and/or Exterior/Closures. Excellent communication and relationship building skills. Ability to identify process issues and drive improvements to improve operational efficiency. Knowledge and experience with ERP systems and implementation – i.e., SAP, Plex Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. High level of integrity. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced start‑up environment.
