Job Title Security Shift Supervisor Location Cambridge, MA Setting Pharmaceutical Client Salary $26.00/hour Positions Available Shift Supervisor - Wednesday to Sunday (3 pm to 11 pm) Shift Supervisor - Saturday to Sunday (7 am to 3 pm) + Monday to Tuesday (3 pm to 11 pm) Shift Supervisor - Wednesday to Saturday (11 pm to 7 am) Shift Supervisor - Sunday to Tuesday (11 pm to 7 am) Essential Functions Supervise Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other company personnel at one or more client posts; ensure post orders are followed, rounds are completed, reports filed, and authorities and client notified in emergencies. Coach and discipline personnel; meet with employees to document coaching and disciplinary actions. Train Security Officers and other personnel; review post orders and assignment details with subordinates. Assist in the submission of payroll and personnel information as designated. Ensure adequate coverage of all posts and positions with company management or designated representatives. Prepare, file, and submit various reports as required. Inspect posts as scheduled; meet with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities. Meet with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to assure all security requirements are met and to provide customer service. Perform supervisory duties such as interviewing, orienting, training, assigning, directing, coaching, appraising, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and making hiring and termination recommendations. May perform the duties of a Security Officer in accordance with post orders and company policy. Education and Experience High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Minimum 2 years of experience in retail preferred. Competencies May be required to hold and continue to meet the requirements for any applicable state, county and municipal license for Security Officers. Knowledge of security operations with an emphasis on patrol, inspection and response services. Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance. Understanding of a variety of security and safety devices and controls. Ability to learn quickly and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments. Ability to be an effective team member. Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances. Courteous telephone manner. Ability to adapt to various sites and changes in post procedures. Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports. Good organizational skills. Strong customer service and results orientation. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients at various social levels and across diverse cultures. Working Conditions Maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and pressure. May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals approaching an unauthorized area. Must meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements. Direct and discipline staff positively. May be required to work overtime without advance notice. Handle multiple tasks concurrently. Basic computer usage and keyboarding, operating controls. Communication skills (seeing, hearing, speaking, writing) to observe and report incidents and direct others. Frequent sitting, standing, walking (including climbing stairs, walking inclines and uneven terrain), occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling. Frequent lifting or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Adjust focus for close and distance vision. Use vehicle for duties. Sometimes perform stressful and physical activity.
