ID: 63850645 Shift: 15:00-23:00 Description: Description:BILL RATE: $60SHIFT: MIDS 3P-11PSummary:Performsavarietyoftechnicaldutiestoassistinpreparingandcaringforpre-operativepatients.Preparespatientskinforsurgeryinaccordancewithhospitalstandards.Maintainsaseptictechniques;activelymonitorssituationsthatcouldleadtobreachesinaseptictechnique.Providescomfortandsupportforpre-operativepatientsbydemonstratingsensitivitytopatientcareandprivacy.TransportspatientstoandfromtheOperatingRoomsuite.Positionspatientsaccordingtothetypeofsurgery.Identifiesandcaresforbiologicalspecimens.PreparestheOperatingRoombysettinguptables,instruments,andsuppliesaccordingtotypeofcase.Responsibilities:MeetsexpectationsoftheapplicableOneCHRISTUSCompetencies:LeaderofSelf,LeaderofOthers,orLeaderofLeaders.Underthedirectionofaprofessionalnurse,performsallprocessesthatrelatetothedeliveryofdirectpatientcareandassistancecareintheORpriortoandduringanysurgicalprocedure.Abilitytoproficientlyscrub3specialtyareasincludingbutnotlimitedto:Transplants,OpenHeart,Urology,Neurology,TitaniumRib,Robotics,etc.ishighlypreferred.Establishesandmaintainsthesterilefield,passesinstruments,andsuturestothephysician,andassistsasdirectedbythephysician.UsethephysicianpreferencecardasabeginningpointwhenpullingcasesandsettinguptheOR.Ensuresthatpreferencecardsarekeptuptodateandascompleteaspossible.Workseffectivelyasamemberoftheteamcaringforthepatient.Cooperatesinteamplanningandexecution.Maintainsasafeenvironmentbyalwaysimplementingtechnicalandasepticpractices.Demonstratesclinicalexpertiseintheuseandcareofallsurgicalsupplies,instruments,andequipment.AdherestoUniversalBarrierPrecautionsforbothpatientandownsafetyinallpatientcaresituations.Demonstratescompetencytomonitorandcontrolthesurgicalenvironment.Maintainspropertrafficcontrol,dresscodes,andadherencetoORsanitationpoliciesandprocedures.Familiarwithfacilitypolicyandprocedureregardingdecontamination,processing,andsterilizationofallinstrumentsandsuppliesthatareprocessedwithinthefacility.Demonstratescompetencetoperformassignedpatientcareresponsibilitiesinamannerthatmeetsthepopulation-specificanddevelopmentalneedsofpatientsservedbythedepartment.Appropriatelyadaptassignedpatientassessment,treatmentand/orcaremethodstoaccommodatetheuniquephysical,psychosocial,cultural,age-specific,andotherdevelopmentalneedsofeachpatientserved.Performsotherdutiesasassigned.JobRequirements:Education/SkillsHighSchoolDiplomaorequivalentisrequiredCompletionoftheSurgicalTechnologyprogramoranaccreditedLVN/LPNprogramisrequiredExperience2ormoreyearsofexperiencepreferredLicenses,Registrations,orCertificationsBLSrequired (AHA only)CertifiedSurgicalTechnologist orLVN/LPNLicenserequiredWorkSchedule:3PM-11PMWorkType:FullTime General Comments No. of Positions: 1/1.
