Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accounting Consultant in Saint Louis, MO.Summary:The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing general accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This includes preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial statements, and supporting audits. The role also involves assisting with budgeting, cost accounting, and compliance with GAAP standards. The candidate will report to the VP of Finance.Key Responsibilities:General Ledger & Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Perform monthly and year-end closing activities
• Review and analyze financial statements for accuracy and reasonableness

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

• Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments
• Record customer payments and manage bank deposits

Reconciliations:

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Assist in annual budget preparation and monthly variance analysis
• Provide financial data to support strategic decision-making

Compliance & Audit:

• Maintain adherence to GAAP and internal controls
• Prepare documentation for external audits and regulatory filings

Special Projects:

• Support cost accounting activities and operational reporting
• Participate in process improvement initiatives

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Sage Intacct) Intermediate Excel skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
