Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in a student's life by providing specialized care in a supportive school environment. This part-time contract position offers 21 hours per week, working Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday with an elementary-aged male student who uses a wheelchair and is non-verbal. In this role, you will offer one-on-one nursing care, including riding the bus with the student to ensure his safety and comfort.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Active RN license; LPN/LVN with school nursing experience may be considered
Prior experience caring for pediatric or special needs students preferred
Strong communication and observational skills
Compassion, attention to detail, and a patient-focused approach
Ability to maintain clear documentation and follow care plans precisely

Responsibilities:

Provide dedicated 1:1 nursing support for an elementary student during school hours and while riding the bus
Monitor student’s health and respond promptly to their needs, following established care protocols
Assist with mobility, hygiene, and daily activities, ensuring the student's comfort and dignity
Communicate regularly with school staff, student’s family, and healthcare providers as needed
Maintain accurate records of care and report any health changes or concerns
Collaborate as part of the student's educational and care team
