Must have the ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions. The Assistant Manager will assume the responsibility of the Department Manager in their absence. Responsibilities: • Maintain strict adherence to department and company safety guidelines • Assign duties to the team as needed • Cut retail cuts of beef, pork, lamb and veal • Grind sausage • Order product • Merchandise product • Ensure company standards for the department are met or exceeded • Inspect product for freshness • Write work schedules and train new teammates • Provide excellent customer service Requirements: • Minimum 3 years experience as a Journeyman Meat Cutter; or equivalent related work experience is required. • Experience operating a meat saw and grinder • Leadership experience as a Head Meat Cutter/Meat Manager preferred The position is 40 hours per week. Flexible availability including weekends is important in our retail environment. Hours may range from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.**Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:*** Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.* Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.* Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).* If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.*Schnucks is an Equal Opportunity Employer.*# Compensation Pay Range:$16.00 - $19.75We offer a variety of benefits to support your overall wellbeing including, healthcare, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and teammate discounts.
