Job Description

The Manufacturing Assembler performs electronics and mechanical assembly from sub-assembly through finished goods while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations. This role operates automated manufacturing equipment, follows documented procedures, and contributes to continuous improvement in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform electronics and mechanical assembly from sub-assembly level to finished goods in accordance with documented procedures.
• Load and operate automated manufacturing equipment following work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Assemble products in compliance with good manufacturing practices, including ESD-safe handling and proper use of specified materials, parts, and process equipment.
• Perform incoming parts inspections to verify quality and accuracy, and place components into inventory according to established processes.
• Follow document control processes for work instructions and travelers to ensure accurate and up-to-date production documentation.
• Create and modify work instructions and travelers as needed to reflect process changes or improvements.
• Handle shipping and receiving activities, including preparing products for shipment and processing incoming materials.
• Assist the Supervisor and/or Team Leader in production planning, including coordinating tasks and prioritizing work.
• Follow all safety requirements across the manufacturing plant and immediately notify the Supervisor and/or Team Lead of any potential safety risks.
• Adhere to all company policies and practices, including the Code of Conduct, and maintain the highest level of ethics at all times.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives by maintaining an organized work area and contributing to process improvements.
• Run and coordinate a small team of 2–3 people on the production floor to meet production goals and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing electronics and mechanical assembly from sub-assembly to finished goods.
• Ability to load and operate automated manufacturing equipment using detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Knowledge of good manufacturing practices, including ESD-safe handling and proper use of materials, parts, and assembly equipment.
• Experience with production, light industrial work, and assembly line operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for manufacturing and assembly tasks.
• Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in manufacturing assembly and sub-assembly work.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles applied in a production environment.
• Proficiency using measurement tools such as calipers and height gauges to verify dimensions and quality.
• Experience working with assembly equipment and, where applicable, CNC machining in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to perform incoming parts inspections and accurately manage inventory placement.
• Competence in following document control processes for work instructions and travelers.
• Strong commitment to following safety requirements and reporting potential safety risks promptly.
• Demonstrated ability to uphold company policies, Code of Conduct, and high ethical standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience creating and modifying work instructions and travelers to support process updates and improvements.
• Experience coordinating or running a small production team of 2–3 people.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes in a manufacturing setting.
• Comfort working with both electronics and mechanical components in a production floor environment.
• Exposure to continuous improvement or process optimization initiatives within manufacturing operations.

Work Environment

This role is based in a semiconductor plant, working primarily on the production floor in a hands-on manufacturing setting. You will operate and monitor automated manufacturing equipment, handle electronic and mechanical components, and support a small team of 2–3 people to meet production goals. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to documented procedures, and the use of precision tools such as calipers and height gauges. Work is performed in a structured industrial setting with standard production-floor attire and appropriate safety gear as required by plant policie

This is a Contract position based out of Richland, WA.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
