Job Title: Mechanical Assembler II

Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler II independently performs a wide range of mechanical and electrical assembly tasks while demonstrating advanced knowledge of assembly processes, quality standards, and blueprint interpretation. This role serves as a technical resource for entry-level assemblers, supports troubleshooting of mechanical equipment, and helps drive productivity and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

• Experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and written assembly instructions.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately down to 1/16th of an inch and perform basic measurements in standard and metric units.
• Ability to perform mechanical equipment troubleshooting following inspection procedures.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet on-time delivery expectations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of socket set sizes and general tool familiarity.
• Demonstrated ability to provide support and guidance to less experienced assemblers.
• Flexibility to support multiple production areas and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong focus on safety and adherence to established safety protocols.

Work Environment

This is a second-shift position, typically working Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with every other Saturday as part of the schedule. The facility is clean and organized, with all necessary tools and equipment provided by the employer. The environment can be hot in the summer, but doors remain open to improve airflow. Safety is a top priority, with clear procedures and expectations in place to protect employees while they work with mechanical and electrical assemblies

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, IL.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Machesney Park,IL.
