Assembler

Assembles various units according to production specifications. Essential duties include reading machine tags, standard parts list, production orders, and blueprints. Retrieves parts and moves units to and from workstations. Operates various equipment and machinery. Assembles various subassemblies (i.e. shells, condensers, power blocks, etc.). Performs various assembly operations (i.e. assembling, soldering, wiring, mechanical, electrical, brazing, etc.). Inspects unit and parts to verify conformance to print specifications and ensure quality standards are met. Other duties include performing preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery, maintaining cleanliness of work area, and following safe work practice rules. Physical demands include prolonged periods of standing on production floor (up to 8–10 hours per shift), frequent walking around production and packaging areas, occasionally lifting and moving products or materials up to 25–50 lbs, regular bending to inspect lower-level machinery or products, frequent reaching over and around equipment or conveyors, occasionally climbing steps or ladders to access equipment or inspection points, and repetitive hand and arm movements when conducting tests or entering data.
