Job Title: Light Mechanical and Electrical Assembler Job Description

This role focuses on light mechanical and electrical assembly and remanufacturing of small dispensing units and major subassemblies. You will work to exact specifications and close tolerances, using fixtures along with simple hand and power tools. In addition to assembly, you will perform disassembly, minor repairs, sorting, cleaning, and inspection of components as part of a structured remanufacturing process. This position offers a condensed workweek with a four-day core schedule and occasional additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform light mechanical and electrical assembly work on equipment and subassemblies, following detailed specifications and close tolerances.

• Use fixtures, simple hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently to complete assembly tasks.

• Carry out assigned remanufacturing operations, including disassembly of small dispensing units and major subassemblies.

• Conduct minor repairs on mechanical and electrical components as required.

• Sort, clean, and inspect parts and units to ensure they meet quality standards and functional requirements.

• Interpret and follow basic wiring color codes to assemble or repair electrical connections correctly.

• Read and understand blueprints and work instructions to guide assembly, disassembly, and repair activities.

• Identify and distinguish between various metals to support accurate sorting and remanufacturing processes.

• Use basic math skills to measure, calculate, and verify dimensions and tolerances during assembly and inspection.

• Utilize basic computer skills to follow work orders, record production data, or access technical documentation.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols when working with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing-related components.

• Collaborate with team members and follow established procedures to meet production goals and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Basic math ability for measurements, calculations, and verification of tolerances.

• Experience using hand tools and power tools in an assembly or similar environment.

• Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity to handle small parts and perform precise assembly work.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and related technical documentation.

• Ability to interpret color coding for basic wiring and follow simple electrical diagrams.

• Ability to distinguish between various metals for accurate sorting and remanufacturing.

• Basic computer skills to follow instructions, access documentation, and record information.

• Ability to stand for extended periods, including up to 10 hours as required by production needs.

• Ability to meet standard pre-employment screening requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Basic mechanical experience, including familiarity with mechanical components and assemblies.

• Basic plumbing experience or exposure to fluid-handling components.

• Comfort working with fixtures and simple jigs to support consistent assembly.

• Attention to detail and commitment to following specifications and close tolerances.

• Strong focus on safety and proper use of hand and power tools.

• Reliability and flexibility to work occasional additional hours when needed to support production demands.

Work Environment

The role is based in a production and remanufacturing environment focused on light mechanical and electrical assembly work. The core schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional work on Fridays for 6 to 8 hours as needed to meet production demands. You spend most of the day on your feet, and you should be comfortable standing for up to 10 hours and working with hand and power tools, fixtures, and small mechanical and electrical components. The facility follows standard safety and operational procedures, with a practical, hands-on atmosphere and a focus on accuracy, cleanliness, and adherence to established processes.

This is a Contract position based out of Roscoe, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
