Position Overview: The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing high quality nutrition and physical activity education to Harris County residents. The Dietitian will collaborate amongst the team effectively in order to continually improve programs geared toward chronic disease prevention, nutrition, and physical activity. The position responsibilities also include building and maintaining relationships with community partners. Duties & Responsibilities: Provides engaging, evidence based nutrition and physical activity education to individuals and groups within Harris County. Including cooking and physical activity demonstrations.Creates educational materials, presentations, and workshops tailored to the needs of specific populations.Plans and performs outreach activities to increase program's engagement and participation.Attends community events and builds partnerships with local organizations to promote nutrition and physical activity education.Keeps abreast of current research, approaches, theories, and practices related to nutrition and physical activity.Collect and analyze program data to provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on progress and outcomes.Other tasks as assigned.Harris County is an Equal Opportunity EmployerRequirements Education :Bachelor's degree in nutrition, Dietetics, or related field from an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited College or University. Licenses/Certifications: Registered Dietitian currently commissioned with the Commission on Dietetics Registration (CDR).Valid TX Driver's License. Preferences Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish.General Information Position Type and Typical Hours of Work: This is a full-time, funded through special revenue position.Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.Must be willing to flex work hours when required, including weekends.Expected to travel within Harris County jurisdiction. Work Environment: This job operates in both a professional office and community environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
