Description

American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN with a PA or Compact license and 2 years of ICU experience for a rotating shift assignment.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Rotating day (3x12, 7:00-19:30) and night (3x12, 19:00-7:30) shifts
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Preferred experience in charge nursing, teaching hospital, and community hospital settings
• Preferred Cerner charting system experience
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, suctioning, and respiratory failure care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and IV insulin protocols
• Two supervisor references preferred
• SSN, DOB, and RTO required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients with complex medical and surgical needs
• Must be willing to float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed
• Must be available to work every other holiday
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this assignment
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• Demographic sheet must be submitted within 48 hours of signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
• Approximately 1 hour of pre-start orientation modules required before entering the facility
• Travel pairs accepted based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
