PLEASE APPLY DIRECTLY THROUGH OUR INTERNAL WORKDAY CAREER SITEJoin Our Community of Food People!BASIC PURPOSE To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.**JOIN OUR FLEET TEAM!**Tool allowance included to support your trade.**Our Diesel Mechanics make** between $35.25 - $ 39.25**/hour depending on experience!** * **401K with 2% automatic company contribution plus company match up to an additional 6%.*** **Medical Benefits Start Day One!*** **We offer low-cost Medical, Dental, and Vision for Family Coverage.*** **Paid vacation time, sick, and personal time.*** **Employee uniforms provided.*** **Strong Safety Culture, newer equipment, and excellent local leadership.*****Similar roles may be: Diesel Technician, Fleet Mechanic, Reefer Mechanic, Trailer Mechanic, Reefer Technician"*****ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.* Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).* Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs.* Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.* Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.* Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.* Other duties as assigned by manager.**SUPERVISION*** N/A**RELATIONSHIPS*** **Internal:** All Fleet Technicians, Drivers, Coordinators and Manager* **External:** N/A**WORK ENVIRONMENT*** **Onsite**: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.* Ability to work flexible schedule.* Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*** Must have 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.* Must furnish own personal hand tools.* Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).**EDUCATION*** High school diploma or equivalent required.**CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING*** N/A**LICENSES*** Must possess a valid driver's license.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*** Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification* Experience with Maximo fleet maintenance system* Previous mechanical and PM program experience* Experience using fleet maintenance software* Welding ability**PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS**OCCASIONALLY: 1% - 33 / FREQUENTLY: 34% - 66% / CONTINUOUSLY: 67% - 100% or NEVER**JOB REQUIRES WORKER TO:****FREQUENCY:**STAND: CONTINUOUSLYWALK: CONTINUOUSLYDRIVE VEHICLE: FREQUENTLYSIT: FREQUENTLYLIFT1-10 lbs (Sedentary): FREQUENTLY11-20 lbs (Light): FREQUENTLY21-50 lbs (Medium): FREQUENTLY51-100 lbs (Heavy): FREQUENTLYOver 100 lbs (Very Heavy): OCCASIONALLYCARRY1-10 lbs (Sedentary): FREQUENTLY11-20 lbs (Light): FREQUENTLY21-50 lbs (Medium): FREQUENTLY51-100 lbs (Heavy): OCCASIONALLYOver 100 lbs (Very Heavy): OCCASIONALLYPUSH/PULL 1: FREQUENTLYCLIMB/BALANCE 2: FREQUENTLYSTOOP/SQUAT: FREQUENTLYKNEEL: FREQUENTLYBEND: FREQUENTLYREACH ABOVE SHOULDER: FREQUENTLYTWIST: FREQUENTLYGRASP OBJECTS 3: FREQUENTLYMANIPULATE OBJECTS 4: FREQUENTLYMANUAL DEXTERITY 5: FREQUENTLY1 (Push/Pull: Hand truck, gate, straps, metal ramp, truck door, dolly, boxes, truck gear shift)2 (Climb/Balance: In/Out Truck/Trailer to cab.
