LCMS Specialist

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an LCMS Specialist for its Richmond, Virginia bioanalytical laboratory on a second shift schedule. The role involves operating and optimizing liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry systems, supporting production activities, and training laboratory staff while maintaining compliance with company protocols.
Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and optimize liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry methods to ensure efficient project execution
- Operate mass spectrometers and assist scientists with system support and troubleshooting
- Prepare and deliver departmental training programs and identify professional development opportunities
- Organize instrument scheduling, manage throughput, and ensure project timelines are met
- Perform laboratory sample preparation work and evaluate support records for SOP compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent formal academic/vocational qualification
- 5–8 years of relevant experience with LC/MS assay analysis and operations
- Understanding of GLP requirements and PPD standard operating procedures
- Knowledge of advanced chromatography, auto injectors, pumps, and instrument maintenance
- Ability to differentiate between mass spectral and chromatographic resolution
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Compensation: $75,000–$85,000 base
