Operations Manager

Location: Andover, NJ Position Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000 Our client is seeking a dynamic and hands‑on Operations Manager to lead manufacturing, plant, and assembly operations at its Andover, NJ facility. Reporting directly to the CEO, this highly visible leadership role will oversee multi shift production operations and play a critical role in driving operational consistency, leadership accountability, process improvement, and future growth initiatives across the organization. The Operations Manager will lead production supervisors, assembly leadership, and approximately 65 direct and indirect employees while partnering closely with executive leadership to strengthen communication, improve efficiency, and support continued operational growth. The Operations Manager is responsible to: Provide overall leadership and direction for all manufacturing, plant, and assembly operations Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production leadership across multiple shifts Drive operational consistency, accountability, and communication throughout the production environment Establish and monitor KPIs related to production output, efficiency, labor utilization, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on time delivery Champion a culture of safety, urgency, continuous improvement, and employee engagement Improve workflow efficiency, production scheduling, staffing alignment, and operational processes Lead hands on process improvement and operational modernization initiatives Strengthen leadership structure, operational discipline, and standardized processes across departments and shifts Partner cross functionally with leadership, production, shipping, and other operational teams to ensure seamless execution and customer delivery Support capital improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and operational improvement efforts as needed Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements Serve as a visible and engaged leader on the production floor, balancing strategic priorities with day to day operational execution Qualified candidates will have the following experience: 7–10+ years of manufacturing or operations leadership experience within a fast-paced production environment Proven experience leading multi shift manufacturing operations and large production teams Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive accountability, collaboration, and operational results Experience improving operational efficiency, workflow optimization, and production consistency Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, Six Sigma, or Kaizen experience strongly preferred Strong communication and people leadership skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels of the organization Experience managing supervisors and hourly production employees in a hands‑on manufacturing environment Bachelor’s degree preferred, though equivalent operational leadership experience will be considered Experience within corrugated packaging, packaging manufacturing, plastics, consumer goods, industrial manufacturing, or related high volume production environments preferred Why This Opportunity?
