Contract | Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical oncology patients, including those receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy (IV, PO, or injection), and managing diagnoses such as AKI, sepsis, cancer, septic shock, malignant neoplasms, and diabetic foot ulcers
• Perform and manage clinical skills including accessing ports, central line blood draws, PICC line management, peripheral line care, blood product administration, colostomy care, wound care/wound vac, chest tubes, surgical drains, and heparin and insulin administration
• Float as needed to similar units and alternate care locations, including inpatient holding areas such as the ED or other medical patient care locations
• Participate in on-call requirements if called off on a prescheduled shift, with make-up shifts to be rescheduled accordingly
• Attend monthly staff meetings and complete required pre-start and annual online modules prior to assignment start
• Be prepared to report to work as part of a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient nursing experience required
• Willingness to obtain the ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification prior to or during assignment; onsite training provided
• Must pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; a local pay rate will apply

• ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification already obtained
• Experience with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR communication framework
• Proficiency with non-invasive airway management, nasal cannula, isolation precautions, and Emerson/Pleur-evac chest tube systems
• First-time travelers are accepted

• Longer contract lengths of 13-26 weeks may be available, offering extended stability for the right candidate
• Work within a structured oncology unit utilizing established systems and a supportive orientation process to set travelers up for success
