The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with manufacturing and production internal customers to address inspection needs. Communicate results and solutions in an effective and efficient manner for inspection projects and provide overall support in the quality lab including inspections, analysis, testing, documentation and recordkeeping.Primary Responsibilities:Involved in New Product DevelopmentParticipates in Advanced Product Quality PlanningPrepares Product Part Approval Process documentation to the customers' requirements for new product submissionsInterprets customer GD&T print requirementsCommunicates with suppliers or customers on quality and print related issuesPrepares and directs the Control Plan document systemMay perform Quality lnspector's duties and responsibilitiesEvaluates parts or processes and reports any non-conformancesUtilizes the system for control of Non-conforming materials and processes and Corrective and Preventive ActionInvestigates and documents 8D formatted corrective actionsPromotes and participates on continuous improvement teams, as neededOther projects and duties as assignedQualifications:2-3 years of experience in quality engineering and related disciplines including implementing and applying quality tools (APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP, SPC, GD&T) and problem-solving techniques (8D, 5-Why, etc.) in a manufacturing environment.Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred.ASQ CQE or CQA desirableAuditor experience (ISO 9000 and TS 16949)Structured problem-solving experience (Six Sigma Green Belt or Shainin Red "X" Journeyman) desired.About Kapco Metal StampingKapco is known for investing in its people and creating a culture of engagement, and is equally as committed to giving back to the community.
