The Sage Group's client, a world leading AI company is searching for a contract Enforcement Operations Specialist with Direct experience with law enforcement referrals, NCMEC CyberTipline reporting, or comparable mandatory-reporting workflows. Our Safeguards team plays a critical role in ensuring our AI technologies are deployed ethically and in alignment with our core values. As a Safeguards Enforcement Operations Specialist on the Strategic Response and Escalations team, you will review user interactions for policy violations and handle escalations to law enforcement and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), applying established referral criteria across our policy areas. Much of your day-to-day work will center on violence: reviewing violent exchanges, assessing threats of harm toward others, and developing depth in the policy areas where violence intersects with other violation types. Alongside that focus, you will contribute to the team's broader enforcement work as needs shift. You will make consequential judgment calls under time pressure, document your reasoning to a standard that holds up to external scrutiny, and work closely with legal, policy, and threat intelligence colleagues when a case demands it. Important context for this role: In this position you may be exposed to and engage with explicit content spanning a range of topics, including those of a sexual, violent, or psychologically disturbing nature.

Responsibilities:

• Review violent exchanges and other user content to assess credibility, imminence, and specificity of harm
• Handle escalations to law enforcement and NCMEC based on established referral criteria across policy areas, ensuring each referral is timely, complete, and accurately documented
• Build subject matter expertise in violence related policy areas, including threats to life and the violent dimensions of adjacent policy violations
• Review customer signals and user exchanges to identify potential policy violations across the full range of our policies, supporting general enforcement work as team needs require
• Apply established workflows and referral thresholds with precision and care, escalating ambiguous cases rather than resolving them unilaterally
• Maintain rigorous case records and chains of reasoning that can withstand legal, regulatory, and external review
• Collaborate with Strategy Analysts, Policy Managers, Threat Intelligence Investigators, and Legal to: Identify emerging harm trends and novel threat patterns Highlight potential policy gaps Flag content for classifier refinement and detection improvements Refine referral criteria as the threat landscape and our products evolve Handle customer communications and appeals related to policy enforcement Contribute to post-incident reviews and help translate individual cases into durable process improvements Triage and respond to cross-functional requests, offering timely assistance and insights

Strong candidates may also have:

• Direct experience with law enforcement referrals, NCMEC CyberTipline reporting, or comparable mandatory reporting workflows
• Experience reviewing violent content, credible threats, or violent extremist material in a Trust & Safety, content moderation, or investigative context
• Background in threat assessment, crisis response, intelligence analysis, law enforcement, or a related field
• Familiarity with policy enforcement in digital platforms and the legal frameworks governing escalations
• Understanding of AI ethics and responsible technology deployment
• Background in analyzing user behavior and identifying potential risks

6+ month contract Pay: $120.00 Location: Remote SF Bay Area ideal
