Installer / Welder

Pay: $21–$24/hr

Location: Portland, OR

We are seeking a motivated Installer/Welder to join a growing team specializing in truck equipment and upfitting. In this role, you will perform mechanical assembly, installation, fabrication, and MIG welding of truck bodies and related equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, welding experience, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings in a production environment.

• Assemble and install mechanical components using hand and power tools.
• Perform MIG welding on carbon and mild steel using .035, .045, and .052 wire.
• Cut, shape, and prepare materials using torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and other fabrication equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Install and route automotive wiring as part of truck equipment installations.
• Work efficiently within a production environment while meeting quality and productivity standards.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, welding equipment, and fabrication tools.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
• Collaborate with team members while also working independently when needed.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

• MIG welding experience with carbon and mild steel.
• Strong mechanical assembly or installation experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Experience with automotive wiring and electrical installations.
• Previous manufacturing, fabrication, or production assembly experience.
• Ability to meet production goals while maintaining quality workmanship.
• Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE usage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have basic hand tools required for the position.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

• Experience in the truck equipment, automotive, or heavy industrial industries.
• Familiarity with plasma cutters, torches, grinders, and overhead cranes.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong reliability, attendance, and willingness to learn new skills.

This position is based in a modern truck equipment manufacturing and installation facility serving customers throughout the Pacific Northwest. Employees work with welding equipment, overhead cranes, fabrication tools, pneumatic and battery-operated hand tools, and automotive components. The environment is fast-paced, team-oriented, and focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troutdale, OR.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
