You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities: Gather business requirements and translate them into system architecture, solution flows, and configuration specificationsCollaborate with Business Ops, WFM, Portal, Chatbot, CRM, Reporting, Data, QA, and Development teams to ensure end‑to‑end alignmentDesign solution flows leveraging Lex V2, Bedrock models, Amazon AI Agents, orchestrator logic, Lambda, and DynamoDBArchitect digital routing, process flows, and integration points within Amazon ConnectRecommend optimal architecture patterns, reusable components, and model selection strategies across GenAI and Amazon Connect ecosystemsEnsure all functional and non‑functional requirements-scalability, performance, reliability, and security-are metCreate solution documents, sequence diagrams, integration specs, and configuration maps across interconnected systemsConduct impact analysis, system dependency reviews, and technical feasibility assessmentsValidate development outputs to ensure alignment with design, requirements, and enterprise architecture standardsWork closely with cross‑functional teams to address integration challenges across CRM, reporting, and data layersIdentify architecture gaps, risks, and dependencies early and propose mitigation strategiesParticipate in Sprint planning, grooming, and technical refinement sessionsEnsure GenAI bots and workflows follow enterprise design principles and are production‑readySupport UAT, SIT, and troubleshooting efforts with engineering, QA, and platform teamsPromote standardization, reusability, and continuous improvement across all Amazon Connect and GenAI implementationsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field10+ years of experience in application architecture or technical leadership rolesHands‑on experience with Amazon Connect, including digital routing, flows, and channel integrationsSolid understanding of GenAI concepts, LLMs, Lex V2, Bedrock models, and conversational AI architecturesExperience working with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, and Step FunctionsAbility to translate business requirements into technical design documents and system configurationsSolid knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and integration patternsExperience building or integrating chatbots, AI agents, or digital CX flowsSolid understanding of scalability, performance tuning, latency optimization, and cloud securityExperience collaborating with cross‑functional teams including Product, QA, CRM, WFM, and Data ServicesPreferred Qualifications:AWS or GenAI certificationsExperience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and technical grooming practicesSolid problem-solving and system analysis skills with attention to detailAbility to manage multiple initiatives and provide architectural guidance to developersSolid communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
