IT Project Manager

Your Role This position encompasses multiple roles with primary responsibility in Project Management and a secondary role focused on IT Delivery Operations and Reporting functions. As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading, organizing, and motivating project teams to successfully deliver IT projects for our customers. Projects will vary in complexity, size, scope, and methodology - traditional (waterfall), agile, and hybrid approaches are all utilized within the organization. The PM is accountable for all aspects of the project in a fast-paced environment focused on value contribution. Expectation includes the ability to manage 3-4 high-visibility efforts in parallel. For the IT Delivery Operations and Reporting role, you will be responsible for developing organizational and project reports on a regular cadence, collecting data and performing analysis to drive organizational efficiency, spearheading initiatives to improve the organization's AI maturity, and serving as the Azure DevOps (ADO) administrator to support the user base and share best practices. Some after-hours or weekend work may be required, and minimal travel may be needed (estimated 10% - 15%). Both will vary based on project needs. Our Team The IT Business Office focuses on advancing IT organizational effectiveness & facilitating business outcomes through Strategic Portfolio Management, IT Delivery Excellence, Organizational Change Management, Learning & Development, & Communications This position is a key member of the IT Delivery Excellence Organization within the IT Business Office, supporting GP IT projects. We manage a wide portfolio of critical efforts supporting the needs of our businesses. We partner with our customers to define, execute, promote, and drive delivery utilizing best practices. - Drive a sense of urgency by managing and driving project scope, issues, risks, stakeholders, communications, and financials while seeking value-added improvement opportunities
- Provide project leadership - accountable to drive all aspects of the project. Proactively escalate issues or concerns, and drive resolutions when there are changes to the project scope, resources, schedule, and budget
- Utilize effective leadership skills to influence cross-functional team members and ensure they are held accountable for deliverables and expectations. Be a challenge partner to increase project success
- Exercise strong leadership and communication skills in interacting with and building preferred partnerships with both business and IT at all levels, including senior leadership
- Leverage best practices. Identify and enhance project management best practices within the organization. Share knowledge and help foster growth by mentoring others within the team and the broader IT organization
- Collaborate with teams and leverage tools, such as Planview, to consolidate data and create reports for key projects, agile delivery management, and vendor management based on their respective cadence
- Provide analysis and insights on organizational effectiveness, and develop and implement initiatives to increase organizational AI maturity and employee productivity
- Provide ADO administration in support of users across the enterprise. Identify best practices and value-added use cases to drive profitable adoption
- Experience in managing application development and packaged software implementation projects- including Traditional methodologies, Agile, or Hybrid
- Experience with project management tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project or equivalent PM tools), Microsoft Office Tools (MS Office, Teams, OneNote)
- Previous leadership experience leading cross-functional onshore/offshore teams and vendors in a complex environment and engaging with business leaders and IT stakeholders at all levels
- Proven experience collaborating, developing relationships and coaching teams, and embracing the challenge process. Detail-oriented with an appetite for learning the business and new skills
- Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
- Manufacturing experience in paper production or converting environment
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- Experience working in a PMO and managing capital projects
- Experience in Azure DevOps (ADO) administration
- Experience in using Planview
- Experience in leading AI initiatives or projects across the enterprise to increase employee and team productivity
