What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients on a telemetry unit
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to clinical changes
• Manage patient wounds including JP drains, wound vacs, and catheter care
• Administer medications and pain management therapies
• Collaborate with physicians and support staff to develop patient care plans
• Document all patient interactions accurately in the EMR (Meditech Expanse)
• Support float to other Med/Surg units as needed

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for reciprocity
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in acute care
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Strong skills in wound management, patient assessment, and medication administration

About the Assignment

This is a brand-new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit focusing on acute patient care, with a variety of cases including sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, and post-op surgeries such as total joints and abdominal procedures. Support staff includes charge nurses, technologists, and hospitalists, ensuring a collaborative environment dedicated to your success.
