The right candidate will be primarily responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor payments, and ensuring compliance with organizational and grant requirements, while supporting efficient and effective financial operations. Duties: Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and make recommendations Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with organizational and funding guidelines. Maintain vendor files, prepare payment runs, and monitor outstanding balances to ensure timely payments. Assist with the preparation of financial reports related to program expenditures and grant-funded projects Investigate and report to the manager any inconsistencies or improprieties of accounts Prepare and analyze account reconciliations on a monthly basis Analysis and approval of project expenditures as well as invoicing per contracted grants Support the preparation of claim reports to funding agencies Collaborate with other accounting staff on special projects and audits as needed. Work with other department members on special projects or on as needed Assist the Department Leader in preparing accounting reports, summaries, and graphical presentations for management or board-level review. Assist the department as needed Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge of accounts payable processes, accounting principles, and financial reporting. Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data. The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Demonstrated computer literacy skills, using MS Office, Google applications and other basic data systems including internet navigation. Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. Ability to prepare and present financial data in clear formats, including charts and graphs. Perform additional duties assigned. Qualifications Ability to interact with all levels of management, staff, and government/foundation representatives. Ability to work in a multicultural environment. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Team building skills; attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Maturity, professionalism, and a high level of discretion are required. Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on accounting experience. Computer knowledge including the ability to operate computerized accounting. Spreadsheet and word processing programs such as Microsoft Office and email at high proficiency level. Bilingual in both English and Spanish is required. Working Conditions: The noise level is moderate. Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
