The Security Guard acts as a visible deterrent to crime. They monitor the grounds for suspicious activities and watch for any criminal acts or any safety issues. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesMonitor building entrances including arrivals and departures of employees, visitors, or other persons to guard against theft and maintain the security of the premisesCover the welcome desk as neededMonitor security cameras for inappropriate activityPatrol buildings and premises on foot or in a vehicle to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gatesConduct openings and closings of DAP Health areas and buildingsCirculate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect propertyRespond rapidly to security emergencies within the buildingsRespond to calls on radio and security phone regarding reports and alertsAnswer alarms and investigate disturbancesNotify proper authorities of any unruly persons we need assistance with to remove them from the premisesNotify police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized personsParticipate as a Crisis Intervention Team member to respond to staff crisis buttonsMaintain awareness of individuals on the BOLO (be on the lookout) list and monitor premises to ensure they are not on premisesProvide assistance to patients, clients, or guests when requestedComplete reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrencesVisually inspect equipment and machinery to detect evidence of tamperingAccount for and accept DAP Health deliveries and contact the appropriate department to pick them upPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Skills/AbilitiesAbility to read and write EnglishKnowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations of the protection of people, data, property, and institutions, preferredEducation and ExperienceActive and unrestricted California Guard CardValid CA Driver's License with a clean driving record and up-to-date auto insuranceCurrent American Heart Association or American Red Cross accredited BLS certificationTwo years of security guard-related experience or related field preferredWorking Conditions/Physical RequirementsThis position is on-site at a DAP Health clinic or buildingAbility to lift up to 50 poundsOperates in the internal and external parts of the buildings and requires constant times of standing, walking, and some repetitive motionPotential exposure to allergens/irritants and extreme temperatures
