Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Night Shift)

Shift: 3rd (7pm-7am, 4 on 4 off)

Pay: $27-$35/hr ($1.50 shift premium)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team on the night shift from 7 pm to 7 am. This role involves mechanical and electrical maintenance on plastic production line equipment in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on ensuring the efficient operation of 10 extrusion lines and winding machines.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on plastic production line equipment.

• Conduct repairs on extrusion lines and winding machines.

• Troubleshoot mechanical components such as shafts, valves, bearings, chains, conveyors, couplers, extruders, winders, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

• Troubleshoot electrical systems including 3-phase 480v systems, 120v control wiring, AC-DC systems, and motors up to 300 horsepower.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.

• Repair industrial ovens, both electrical and gas-powered.

• Utilize Oracle work order system for maintenance tasks.

• Perform reactive maintenance when machines break down.

• Conduct preventative maintenance and upgrades on electrical cabinets.

• Work with PLCs (AB and Siemens) and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).

• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures on electrical systems.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience with a 65/25 mechanical to electrical skillset.

• Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting of components like valves, bearings, chains, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.

• Expertise in electrical troubleshooting of 3-phase 480v systems, 120v control wiring, AC-DC systems, and motors.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, with an emphasis on pneumatics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with PLC troubleshooting (AB and Siemens).

• Familiarity with VFD troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of HVAC systems.

• Skill in stick welding.

• Experience in a plastic extrusion environment is a plus.

Work Environment

This position is located in a plastic extrusion production environment, which is fast-paced and can be dusty and loud due to constant machinery operation. The facility features both older and newer equipment, and the role involves more reactive maintenance than preventative. There are 10 extrusion lines and a mix of manual and servo-computer-powered winders.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $72800.00/yr.
