Job Description and Duties
Under direction, the Analyst II is responsible for a wide range of research and analytical duties which center on complex research of state legislation and statutes, including Title 17 and the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities and Services Act, with a particular focus on rate setting methodologies, and vendorization implementation. The Analyst II will gather, develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures to assemble and structure necessary data. Additionally, the Analyst II is expected to analyze information from a variety of sources to evaluate appeals to ensure compliance with Statute and regulations.
Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave. This position is eligible for geographic retention pay differential of $250.00 per month.You will find additional information about the job in the .
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an open spaced partitioned office.
Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.Pursuant to California Government Code requirements, candidates must be residents of the State of California at the time of appointment.
This position requires lawful authorization to work in the United States. The Department does not sponsor employment visas for this position.
Special Requirements
The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be numbered in the same order as the following areas, typed in 12-point Arial font, single spaced, and be no more than one pages in length. Applicants who fail to answer the questions or submit an SOQ may not be considered.
Relative to the duty statement for this position, describe your experience working with various information and data platforms to provide analysis, monitor system performance and provide technical assistance. .
Describe your experience as it relates to research and analyzing compliance with governmental rules, laws and regulations.
Describe your experience with Microsoft Excel and give a short example of a project you worked on using it.

Knowledge of: California developmental disabilities system and the services supports and needs of consumers; legislative and rulemaking processes; Microsoft Office Software (Excel).
Ability to: Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with regional center staff, other state agencies, peers, the public, and others; serve as the liaison between the Department and regional centers regarding provider directory, vendorization, rate setting and appeals; interpret laws and Department policy and regulation as well as support in problem solving and program implementation.
