Embedded Software Engineer, Space Payload

Salary: $97,000 - 180,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or 8 years of relevant experience in place of a degree
• Professional experience integrating and testing embedded systems across software and hardware
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with C/C++, Python, Linux, and RTOS
• Proven practical experience with Hardware in the Loop and Software in the Loop testing
• Experience working in an Agile software development setting
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
• Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance preferred
• Experience in space payload integration and test, as well as ground equipment development, preferred
• Space vehicle development and integration experience preferred
• Familiarity with lasers, image processors, visible and IR cameras, servo motors, actuators, and focus mechanisms preferred
• Knowledge of the space domain and mission applications preferred
• Experience with command and control software, sensor processing systems, and optical systems or telescopes preferred
• Experience estimating large software programs for new business opportunities preferred
• Proficiency in release engineering, change and configuration management, and continuous integration preferred
• Experience developing software for microcontrollers using interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN preferred
• Working knowledge of image processors, visible cameras, IR detectors, servo motors, actuators, and focus mechanisms preferred
• Familiarity with cyber compliance tools such as Fortify Workbench and SonarQube preferred

• Collaborate with high-performing teams to develop embedded software and EGSE solutions
• Provide technical guidance by refining requirements, writing user stories, and shaping collaborative designs in an Agile environment
• Build and integrate software for aerospace subsystems using HIL and SIL environments
• Design automated infrastructure for space payloads
• Create and run test plans, procedures, and reports with full traceability
• Configure and document multi-device hardware and software systems under test
• Work directly with flight hardware, EGSE, and imaging technologies
• Use tools and platforms such as COSMOS, Ruby, LabVIEW, TestStand, MATLAB, Simulink, Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Confluence
