Chemours is seeking an AssociateChemist to join ourCore Services Teamin theThermal & Specialty Solutions(TSS)business!This position will report directly to theAnalytical Sr. StaffSupervisorat our CDH location in Newark, DE . The positionwill be responsible for providing criticalanalytical testingonexisting andnew refrigerant molecules andblendsfor thegrowingtheTSSbusiness. This position will work closely with the Product, Technical Service, and Processgroups to support critical programs. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Operate high-hazard processes for sealed tube experiments supporting refrigerant analysis and classification, including work with open flames, molten glass, liquid nitrogen, and pressurized vessels. Safely handle compressed gas cylinders, including 2lb, 4lb, and 10 kg containers. Manage and safely execute compatibility, stability, and miscibility testing for refrigerants. Maintain documentation and perform audits to ensure compliance with operating, safety, and environmental requirements. Perform in-laboratory analytical testing (GC/MS, IC, titration, FT-IR, and other AHRI 700 methods) for existing and new fluorochemical products. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory equipment and test setups to support fluorochemical research and address product, process, or customer-related issues. Independently plan and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, document results, communicate conclusions, and continue investigations with minimal guidance. Ensure laboratory measurement systems remain in good working order and implement upgrades and improvements as needed. The following is required for this role: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering or similar discipline.High school diploma or GED equivalentwith at least 5 years of industrial or manufacturing experiencealso considered. Demonstratedhands-onexperience inmaintaining,calibrating,repairing, and troubleshooting analytical laboratory equipment. Understanding of basic chemistry and math principlesand demonstrated problem-solving/troubleshooting and data analysis skills. Ability to read and understand complex Standard Operating Procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to lift55 lbs. and move drums/containerswith appropriate safety and ergonomics consideration. Basic mechanical skills for using small hand tools. The following is preferred for this role: Individuals with chemical plant experience in quality analysis and quality control areespecially encouraged. Previous experience working with open flame/molten glass. Demonstrated hands-on experiencein analytical techniques;proficiency in GC/GC-MS/IC/FT-IR and basic wet-chemistry and formulation techniques;experiencein wet-lab environment handling hazardous materials. Demonstrated experience with fluorochemical handling preferred. Familiarity withgas or sample blending techniques. Pay Range (in local currency): $73,947.00 - $115,542.00 Chemours Level: 23 Annual Bonus Target: 6% The pay range and incentives listed above is a general guideline based on the primary location of this job only andnot a guarantee oftotal compensation.
