Procurement Coordinator

Our client, an advanced energy technology organization developing next-generation nuclear power systems, is looking for a Procurement Coordinator . This role will support procurement oversight activities for a large-scale engineering program by coordinating cross-functional teams, tracking procurement milestones, and ensuring contract awards remain aligned with project schedules and budgets.

Location: Bellevue, WA or Remote (United States)
Duration: 12 Months
Compensation: $52 - $85 per hour.
Additional Compensation: This position is not eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.

Summary:
The Procurement Coordinator will support procurement planning and oversight for a complex engineering program by partnering with engineering, contracts, legal, project controls, and external stakeholders. This role is responsible for tracking procurement activities, monitoring project schedules and budgets, coordinating document reviews, and helping ensure procurement milestones are achieved on time. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and has experience supporting large capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate procurement activities to support timely contract awards and maintain alignment with the integrated project schedule.
• Track procurement budgets from estimated award through final contract execution and assist with project cost variance reporting.
• Monitor procurement-related action items and facilitate resolution across engineering, contracts, legal, and project teams.
• Identify and track cost mitigation initiatives supporting procurement activities.
• Coordinate procurement and technical document reviews with internal stakeholders.
• Support contract administration by tracking change requests and assisting with contract modifications.
• Monitor contractor schedule performance and provide reporting on procurement milestones and schedule adherence.
• Support supply chain development initiatives for future engineering projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure procurement activities remain aligned with overall project objectives.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement processes and project execution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, project delivery, procurement services, or project coordination supporting large, complex projects.
• Experience working with highly multidisciplinary and matrixed project teams.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver projects on schedule.
• Working knowledge of project scheduling, budget control, Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), and project controls.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, and Microsoft Project.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate complex engineering or project concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10-20% as needed.

Nice to Have:

• Experience supporting energy, power generation, nuclear, or other large capital engineering projects.
• Experience using Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira.
• Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
• Experience supporting procurement planning, supplier coordination, or contract execution within complex engineering environments.
