Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Delaware certification as a Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities (1571) or eligibility for the Alternative Route to Certification (ARTC)
• Experience teaching or supporting high school students, especially those in grades 9-12
• Strong background in language arts instruction within a special education setting
• Commitment to creating inclusive, supportive classroom environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for partnering with families, staff, and related service providers
• Proficiency with IEP development, goal-setting, and progress monitoring

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group language arts instruction to students with mild to moderate special needs
• Design engaging lessons aligned with IEPs while meeting state curriculum standards
• Monitor and document student growth, adapting lesson plans and supports as needed
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, case managers, and other specialists to foster student success
• Engage in ongoing communication with families about student progress, strategies, and support
• Participate in IEP meetings, departmental planning, and faculty professional development throughout the school year
