HVAC Lead Service Technician

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time Service Technician IV. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. Responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. Location: Lubbock, Amarillo, TX - Onsite What You Will Do Oversee and lead up to 10 HVAC Technicians Ensure timely and cost‑effective start‑up of maintenance contracts and efficient installation of jobs, providing maintenance according to contract requirements and ensuring customer concerns/complaints are resolved promptly Perform ongoing review of contracts/projects, implementing corrective actions to ensure costs are consistent with financial plans, negotiate subcontract agreements as required, and serve as a primary contact Utilize the Service Management System and contract review process to establish an effective work plan that maximizes the capabilities of each team member and provides prompt customer service, ensuring contract requirements are met Perform and/or provide expert counsel on scheduled preventive maintenance on any equipment/system under contract agreement by inspecting and checking equipment to ensure it is in satisfactory working order Respond to or assist other Service Technicians on emergency service calls to keep system downtime to a minimum; provide counsel, coaching, and leadership and analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and restore equipment/systems to full operation, and recommend revisions, replacements, or upgrades when necessary Support Sales by assisting with job site surveys, reviewing estimates for accuracy, participating in sales promotion programs, and providing technical training and guidance; participate in the Estimate Review Process as required Contribute to accident and illness prevention by ensuring that safe work practices are implemented, and that the work environment is safe; provide safety training as required by OSHA and Daikin Applied policies and procedures Provide timely, proactive feedback (positive or negative) to reinforce positive results or reduce potential call backs due to similar incidents Actively participate in performance evaluations of Service Technicians, providing feedback on technical skills, attitude, thoroughness, teamwork and developmental suggestions for technicians Keep current and provide training on all Daikin Applied products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair Regular local travel requirements with some overnight travel What’s In It For You Factory Certified Training, Online Training Courses, or other professional on‑the‑job training in the HVAC Industry The opportunity to work on all types of commercial equipment and cutting‑edge technologies such as Intelligent Equipment, Magnetic Bearing Technology, and VRF Technology Daikin Applied provides technicians with company vehicle, laptops, mobile devices, and other technologies The ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company passionate about growth The support of an organization that believes it is vital to include and engage diverse people, perspectives, and ideas to achieve our best The opportunity to work for a leading innovator in HVAC and make a difference in environmental initiatives to create a more sustainable world Minimum Qualifications 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience High School Diploma or GED Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record Rotational Emergency Call Support as required Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position Preferred Qualifications Commercial HVAC Industry Experience Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process) Current first aid / CPR card Benefits Daikin Applied offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: Multiple medical insurance plan options + dental and vision insurance 401K retirement plan with employer match Paid time off and company paid holidays Paid sick time in accordance with federal, state and local law Tuition Reimbursement after 6 months of continuous service The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $35.40 - $56.96 in TX. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls.
