FOH Food Server - Ventura's Offshore Cafe

Ventura's Offshore Cafe has been a staple of the Northfield, NJ community for over 30 years. Known for our high-volume, fast-paced environment and loyal customer base, we are looking for experienced and energetic Front of House Food Servers to join our team.

As a server at Ventura's, you aren't just taking orders; you are managing a high-energy dining experience. You must be comfortable handling both a diverse food menu and a full-service bar, ensuring every guest receives the quality service weve been known for since we opened our doors.

Key Responsibilities

• High-Volume Service: Efficiently manage a multi-table station in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
• Food & Beverage Expertise: Accurately take food and liquor orders. You should have a strong understanding of Italian-American cuisine and be comfortable suggesting wine, beer, and spirits pairings.
• POS Management: Use our Toast POS system to enter orders accurately, process payments, and manage guest checks.
• Quality Control: Ensure all food and drinks meet our standards before they reach the table.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with busboys, runners, and bartenders to ensure a seamless flow of service.
• Compliance: Strictly adhere to NJ liquor laws, including checking IDs and monitoring alcohol consumption to ensure guest safety.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, and craft beer is highly preferred.
• Pace: Proven ability to thrive under pressure and stay organized during peak hours (weekends and holidays).
• Professionalism: Punctual, reliable, and capable of building rapport with our many "regular" customers.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stay on your feet for long shifts and carry heavy trays of food and drinks.
