A growing boutique employment law firm in the Greater Boston area is looking to add a talented Employment Attorney to its team.

This is not a cookie-cutter employment role. You'll have the opportunity to work on interesting, sophisticated matters across the full spectrum of employment law, while working closely with clients and having real ownership over your cases.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll have a diverse practice that can include:

Litigation

• Represent employees and employers in state and federal litigation
• Take and defend depositions
• Handle discovery and motion practice
• Prepare cases for trial and step into the courtroom when needed
• Develop litigation strategies and advocate aggressively for your clients

Agreements & Executive Matters

• Draft and negotiate employment agreements
• Prepare and negotiate severance and separation agreements
• Advise executives navigating sophisticated employment transitions
• Work with matters involving equity compensation, stock options, and vesting
• Help clients negotiate enhanced severance packages

Counseling

• Advise employers through difficult personnel decisions
• Counsel clients regarding discipline, termination, workplace issues, and potential liability
• Help employers understand their options and navigate risk
• Counsel employees regarding potential claims, workplace disputes, restrictive covenants, and non-compete issues

Negotiation & Pre-Litigation

• Draft compelling pre-litigation demand letters
• Negotiate directly with opposing counsel and employers
• Help clients reach favorable resolutions before a lawsuit is necessary
• Strategize about when to negotiate and when it's time to litigate

You should be someone who:

• Is a strong, passionate advocate for your clients
• Is comfortable representing both employees and employers
• Can independently manage sophisticated employment matters
• Has meaningful litigation experience
• Knows employment agreements and severance agreements inside and out
• Is comfortable advising executives on complicated employment issues
• Can confidently counsel employers through sensitive personnel decisions
• Is an excellent writer and communicator
• Thinks strategically and solves problems rather than simply identifying them
• Is comfortable taking ownership and running with a matter
• Enjoys working with clients directly
• Is collaborative, dependable, and genuinely enjoys being part of a team

Practical judgment matters here. The firm isn't looking for someone who simply knows how to cite the law — they're looking for someone who understands clients, understands business, and can figure out what actually makes sense for the situation in front of them.

This is a remote-friendly position with a collaborative office environment in the Greater Boston area.

There is no rigid "you must be in the office X days every week" mentality.
