SUMMARY

The Sheet Metal Technicians are an integral part of our Return to Service team. Their experience, practical knowledge, creativity, and problem‑solving skills will ensure that aircraft are assembled in accordance with applicable documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide aircraft sheet metal fabrication, disassembly, and reassembly tasks using industry tools and test equipment. Repair sheet metal and composite structures. Diagnose and repair aircraft components. Prepare and apply various aircraft finishes. Read blueprints, interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and drawings. Trim parts as required. Verify cable tension. Assess damage and corrosion of aircraft structures. Repair, replace and modify sheet metal and/or composite structures. Operate aircraft towing equipment in towing operations. Perform preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and their systems and subsystems. Operate and service ground support equipment. Ensure compliance with applicable airworthiness standards, OEM instructions, company policies and procedures, regulated safety standards. Inspect, certify, and install replacement parts; retain removed parts for quarantine. Carry out maintenance, repair, modification, and daily inspection of company aircraft per the maintenance control manual. Complete and certify work reports for all aircraft work. Follow company procedures as per the maintenance control manual, using safe work practices. Carry out line and heavy maintenance activities per operational standards. Perform independent checks when authorized. Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety acts, regulations, and safety practices. Report hazards or safety risks immediately. Work under pressure, meet deadlines, maintain a positive attitude, and provide exemplary customer service. Work independently and complete assignments within prescribed routines. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.

SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS

Proven track record on complex assignments requiring judgment, initiative, and specialized knowledge. Ability to work well in a team and within a fast‑paced environment. Self‑starter with minimal supervision. Strong problem‑solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective communication with internal and external customers. Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook).

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license/certification or equivalent experience required.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree strongly preferred; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent a plus. Minimum of 5 years overall aircraft maintenance experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, walk, and hear; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and arm reaching. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. The position requires good vision at close and distant ranges, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. The employee works in office and outdoor weather environments, frequently near moving mechanical parts, vibrations, hot or cold, wet or humid conditions, and sometimes in high, precarious places. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock, and loud noise may occur. Must be a US Citizen or hold a valid Green Card. Domestic and international travel may be required.
