Facilities Technician

What you'll do

As a Facilities Technician, you'll perform hands-on maintenance, repair, and installation across our 24-acre campus working in 12 different buildings handling everything from HVAC systems and plumbing to electrical, carpentry, painting, and beyond. In a museum setting, systems like climate control and humidity management carry real stakes: they protect irreplaceable collections and spaces. You'll bring your expertise, and we'll invest in deepening it.

What we're looking for

• 2-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance across one or more trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or general building systems) - or a completed technical trade program
• Curiosity and a growth mindset: you want to keep learning and expanding your skills
• A positive attitude and genuine enjoyment of teamwork
• Relevant licenses or certifications (EPA Refrigerant, MD Stationary Engineer, or equivalent) a plus - or the drive to earn them with our support
• Comfort with physical work, including working in mechanical rooms, outdoors, and on ladders
• Familiarity with CMMS platforms and basic computer tools

Essential staff designation: This role includes on-call availability and emergency response support
